Xi'an

One milestone along the way was the project to build and operate the water plant in Xi'an, completed back in 1997. BWI has formed a consortium together with Chinese partners named Water Works Xi'an South Ltd. for the realisation of a BOOT model and has provided managerial and technical support.

The waterworks, with a drinking-water production capacity of 550,000 m³ per day, is one of the most advanced facilities of its kind in China and, as one of the earliest of the BOT projects, serves as an example in that area as well.
