Treatment of industrial and municipal sewage in Panjin
Panjin _ Berlin _ Berlinwasser and the Government of Panjin City initialled a concession contract for a wastewater treatment plant over a period of 30 years. Dieter Ernst, CEO Berlinwasser International, estimates in Panjin the agreement as a cornerstone for the successful business development in the P. R. of China. “Berlinwasser China Holdings proved anew to be a reliable partner for municipalities.” The final design capacity of the Panjin wastewater treatment plant No. 2 (WWTP No. 2) is 100,000 m3/day. The commercial operation will begin estimated in June 2010. Than the total wastewater treatment capacity of Berlinwasser China Holdings will hit the 900.000 m3/d margin.
Dieter Ernst said: “Together with our partners we are keeping our word by delivering high quality water and wastewater services to our customers contributing to active environment protection in the P. R. of China.”
Panjin City has constructed the WWTP No. 2 with the capacity of 100,000 m3/d. The Government of Panjin decided to transfer the concession right of this plant to a potential investor in the form of a TOT (transfer-operate-transfer) project with the concession right for 30 years. After bidding process, Berlinwasser China Holdings and the project for of TOT have been selected by Panjin Government.
The City of Panjin is located in the central of Liaoning province along Bo Sea. It covers an area of 4,071 km2, with a population of over 1.24 million. Panjin governs two districts and two counties. Due to its oil, gas and reeds resources, Panjin obtains a strong economic basis.
