Get the Water Sector Working for All – Financing the Future

Press release from 2/1/2008
Private Sector Responsibility
Málaga - CEO Dieter Ernst gives a keynote at the 2008 Water and Environment Exchange in Málaga, Spain. He underlines that if there will be a global water crisis, it will be not because of physical scarcities of water. It will be because of poor water management. In our days the gap between needs and deeds are growing. The main obstacles are at one hand the low rate of investment in the sector and at the other hand over-exploited water resources. Today 40% of the world‘s population lacks access to improved water and sanitation. There will be no chance to close the financial gap for investment needs without private financing, CEO Dieter Ernst pointed out the responsibilty of the private sector.
